MEET OUR BOARD

Beverley Rogers
Board President
Beverley is a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of experience spanning the nonprofit, corporate, and public sectors. She is deeply committed to community engagement and advancing STEM education. Throughout her career, she has supported senior leadership at organizations including Beacon Roofing, the Federal Trade Commission, and the United Way of New York City, building strong expertise in board relations, resource development, human resources, and legal operations.
A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Beverley enjoys attending cultural events, hosting potlucks, and listening to music especially Kenny G. She currently lives in Hanover, Maryland with her son.

Dayna L. Kent
Community Outreach
Dayna is a passionate and dedicated educator committed to supporting student growth, wellbeing, and long-term success. A proud alumna of Edward Waters University, she takes a compassionate, student-centered approach, meeting learners where they are to help shape their future potential.
With teaching experience in both Prince George’s County and the District of Columbia Public Schools, Dayna has been recognized for her excellence with honors such as Teacher of the Year and the National Citizenship Education Teacher Award (2009–2010). Deeply committed to serving at-risk communities, she extends her impact beyond the classroom through her community involvement as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Mudiwa N. Betts
Treasurer
Mudiwa is an experienced educator and leader passionate about empowering others through learning and financial literacy. She has a strong background in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development, supporting student growth and achievement.
A graduate of Morgan State University and Trinity University, she is currently a PhD candidate at Loyola University. In addition to her educational work, Mudiwa brings expertise in financial planning and budget management, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
As Treasurer, she leverages her combined experience to support the organization’s mission with a focus on sustainability, accountability, and long-term impact.

Ericka Holt
Communications
Ericka is a communications professional with a passion for storytelling, community engagement, and amplifying voices that drive impact. A proud two-time HBCU graduate of North Carolina Central University and Bowie State University, Ericka brings a strong foundation in strategic communications, brand messaging, and audience engagement.
Her experience includes content development, outreach initiatives, and crafting clear, compelling narratives that support education, innovation, and equity.
Ericka is deeply committed to using communication as a tool for empowerment and believes that representation, visibility, and authentic storytelling are essential to building inclusive pathways in STEM.

Keyanna L. McKenzie
Events/Volunteer Coordinator
Keyanna brings passion, organization, and creativity to every initiative. In her role, she oversees volunteer engagement, ensuring that each person feels valued and empowered to contribute to the mission of inspiring the next generation of young women in STEM. Keyanna also manages event planning and coordination, helping to design impactful experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors for students from all backgrounds. Dedicated to service and community, she embodies the spirit of mentorship and collaboration that drives SHELOVESSTEM forward.
