Welcome to SHELOVESSTEM. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of www.shelovesstem.com, participation in SHELOVESSTEM programs and workshops, purchases of STEM kits and merchandise, and use of other services and educational resources offered by SHELOVESSTEM, Inc.
By accessing our website, purchasing products, booking services, or participating in our programs, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. General Terms
SHELOVESSTEM, Inc. is a nonprofit organization providing STEM education, outreach, workshops, programs, educational materials, STEM kits, and related experiences.
By using our website or purchasing services or products, you represent that you are at least 18 years old or are acting with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date.
2. Workshops, Programs & STEM Experiences
SHELOVESSTEM offers individual STEM workshops, multi-session STEM Experiences, school and community programming, special events, and other educational services.
Booking & Confirmation
Workshop and program bookings may require an initial consultation to determine program requirements, participant count, location, materials, scheduling, and pricing.
A booking is not confirmed until all required booking information has been received, and the applicable deposit or other agreed-upon payment arrangement has been completed.
Payment Terms
Single Workshops
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm and reserve a workshop date. The deposit will be applied toward the total workshop cost.
The remaining 50% balance is due within 24 hours following completion of the workshop.
Multi-Session STEM Experiences & Custom Programs
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a multi-session STEM Experience or custom program and reserve the agreed-upon program dates.
The remaining balance will be due according to the payment schedule stated in the applicable proposal, invoice, service agreement, or contract. Depending on the length and scope of the engagement,
SHELOVESSTEM may require the remaining balance before the first session or establish installment or milestone payments throughout the program.
Schools, Government Agencies & Institutions
Approved purchase orders and institutional payment arrangements may be accepted. When alternative payment terms are approved by SHELOVESSTEM in writing, the payment terms stated in the applicable invoice, purchase order, service agreement, or contract will apply.
Accepted Payment Methods
SHELOVESSTEM may accept:

ACH bank transfers

Purchase orders from approved schools, government agencies, organizations, and institutions

Other payment methods specifically authorized by SHELOVESSTEM
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Deposits are non-refundable.
A deposit may be transferred to a rescheduled date when a rescheduling request is received at least 7 calendar days before the scheduled program, subject to SHELOVESSTEM availability.
Cancellations made fewer than 7 calendar days before the scheduled program will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Requests to reschedule are subject to staff, facilitator, venue, and program availability and are not guaranteed.
If SHELOVESSTEM must cancel or reschedule a program due to circumstances within our control, we will work with the client to identify an alternative date or appropriate resolution.
SHELOVESSTEM may establish different cancellation, rescheduling, or payment requirements for large events, customized programs, multi-session engagements, travel engagements, or contractual partnerships. Any such terms will be communicated in writing before booking and will supersede this general policy where applicable.
3. Participant Safety & Supervision
Participants must follow all safety instructions and facilitator directions provided during SHELOVESSTEM activities.
Some STEM activities may involve small parts, liquids, food products, batteries, electrical components, craft materials, or other materials that require appropriate supervision.
Parents, guardians, schools, organizations, and program hosts are responsible for providing SHELOVESSTEM with relevant information concerning participant allergies, accessibility needs, or other accommodations when applicable.
Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the host organization remains responsible for appropriate supervision and behavior management of minors participating in group programs.
SHELOVESSTEM reserves the right to modify or discontinue an activity when necessary to protect participant safety.
4. STEM Kits, Merchandise & Product Purchases
SHELOVESSTEM offers STEM activity kits, educational materials, apparel, accessories, books, and other merchandise through its online shop and at select events.
STEM kits and educational products are intended for educational purposes and should be used according to the included instructions and with age-appropriate adult supervision when necessary.
Final-Sale Merchandise
Unless an item is defective, damaged upon arrival, or SHELOVESSTEM approves an exception, sales of the following items are final:

Lapel pins

T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and other apparel

Tote bags
-
Coloring books
-
Crayons
-
Stickers
-
Promotional merchandise

Personalized or customized products
Returns
Returns of eligible products are accepted only at the discretion of SHELOVESSTEM, Inc.
To request authorization for a return, contact kits@shelovesstem.com before mailing any merchandise.
If a return is approved:

Products must be returned in their original condition.

A 15% restocking fee may apply.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the product was defective or an incorrect item was shipped.

SHELOVESSTEM is not responsible for return packages lost or damaged in transit.

Approved refunds are generally processed within 5–7 business days after the returned merchandise has been received and inspected.
Products should not be returned without prior authorization.
Shipping
Orders are generally processed for shipment within 3–5 business days, excluding weekends, holidays, preorders, customized products, or periods of unusually high order volume.
Shipping and delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. SHELOVESSTEM is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, weather, incorrect delivery information, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Product Use
Customers are responsible for following all instructions, age recommendations, warnings, and supervision requirements provided with STEM kits and educational products.
SHELOVESSTEM is not responsible for damage or injury resulting from improper use, unauthorized modification, failure to follow instructions, or use of products for purposes for which they were not intended, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Proceeds from purchases support SHELOVESSTEM's educational programs, outreach, and mission.
5. Curriculum & Educational Materials
SHELOVESSTEM may provide curricula, facilitator guides, activity instructions, worksheets, presentations, lesson materials, digital resources, and other educational content.
Unless otherwise authorized in writing, these materials are licensed for the specific educational use for which they were provided.
Materials may not be:

Resold;

Republished;
-
Distributed publicly;

Uploaded to public websites or shared repositories;

Rebranded as another organization's original material;

Used to create derivative commercial products; or
-
Reproduced for use outside the organization, program, classroom, or license for which they were provided.
Organizations interested in broader curriculum licensing, facilitator-supported programming, or recurring use should contact SHELOVESSTEM for appropriate licensing or partnership arrangements.
6. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, content available through SHELOVESSTEM including its name, logos, trademarks, program names, workshop materials, curricula, activity guides, graphics, photographs, videos, website content, educational resources, and original designs is owned by or licensed to SHELOVESSTEM, Inc.
SHELOVESSTEM materials may not be copied, reproduced, modified, sold, republished, distributed, or used commercially without prior written authorization.
Certain third-party names, trademarks, images, educational resources, or materials may remain the property of their respective owners.
7. Photography, Video & Media
SHELOVESSTEM may photograph or record programs and events for educational, promotional, fundraising, reporting, social media, website, or nonprofit communications purposes when appropriate permission has been obtained.
For programs hosted by schools, community organizations, or other partners, photography and media participation may also be governed by the host organization's policies and consent procedures.
Participants, parents, guardians, or partner organizations should notify SHELOVESSTEM before an event if photography or recording restrictions apply.
8. Donations & Sponsorships
Donations made to SHELOVESSTEM, Inc. are generally non-refundable.
Contributions support SHELOVESSTEM's charitable mission, educational programs, community outreach, and organizational operations.
Unless a donation is expressly restricted and accepted by SHELOVESSTEM for a specific purpose, SHELOVESSTEM reserves the discretion to allocate charitable contributions where they can best support the organization's mission and programs.
Sponsor recognition, benefits, deliverables, and acknowledgments will be provided according to the applicable sponsorship agreement or written arrangement.
Nothing on our website should be interpreted as guaranteeing that a particular contribution is tax-deductible. Donors should consult their tax advisor regarding their individual circumstances.
9. Website Use & Third-Party Links
You agree not to use the SHELOVESSTEM website for unlawful purposes or in a manner that could damage, disable, interfere with, or impair the website or its services.
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, services, payment processors, social media platforms, or other resources.
SHELOVESSTEM does not control and is not responsible for the content, security, availability, privacy practices, or policies of third-party websites or services.
10. Limitation of Liability
SHELOVESSTEM strives to provide safe, high-quality educational programs, products, and resources.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SHELOVESSTEM, Inc., its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of our website, participation in our programs, or use of our products.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit any rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.

SHELOVESSTEM is committed to creating welcoming and accessible STEM experiences.
Participants, families, schools, and partner organizations are encouraged to communicate reasonable accommodation needs before a scheduled program so that we can determine how best to support participation.
13. Changes to Programs, Products & Pricing
Workshop offerings, STEM Experiences, products, pricing, availability, curriculum, program content, and other services may change periodically.
SHELOVESSTEM reserves the right to modify or discontinue products, programs, services, or pricing at any time.
Pricing changes will not affect confirmed bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
14. Changes to These Terms
SHELOVESSTEM may revise these Terms periodically to reflect changes to our programs, services, policies, business practices, or applicable requirements.
Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of the website or services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of SHELOVESSTEM services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts located in Maryland, unless otherwise required by applicable law or established by written agreement.
